About ALGO GAYZE
ALGO GAYZE examines the ethics of algorithms and their significant impact on our digital lives. This project invites you to explore how algorithms "see" when they scan and interpret images, and what happens when they fail.
By uploading an image, you can witness the algorithm's attempt to detect faces using TensorFlow.js and Yoloface-18-nn. The process reveals not just the technology’s capabilities, but also its errors—moments when it misidentifies objects or fails entirely. These mistakes expose the biases in the data and models created by humans.
ALGO GAYZE challenges us to consider the implications of these errors in systems that hold immense power, highlighting the delicate balance between technological advancement and ethical responsibility.
Also, I think they're pretty — and humorous.
